Arlo would be so proud…

Well, I finally finished and submitted my VA disability claim appeal package yesterday.

It was neatly bound in a black, faux leather three-ring binder with 54 pages of documented evidence in support of my claim with twenty seven eight-by-ten color glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was. And as I handed the package to the Veteran’s Service Officer just two days before the deadline, I asked the Veteran’s Service Officer when I might be expecting a response? And the Veteran Service Officer looked at the black, faux leather binder with the  three-ring binder with 54 pages of documented evidence in support of my claim with twenty seven eight-by-ten color glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was, he said

“Kid, I’m going to send this package over to the Regional Office of the Veteran’s Administration to Case Review Officer Cindy Reese. Now I know Cindy Reese and have worked with her for 15 years. She’s a dedicated, hard working woman who genuinely cares about the plight of veterans such as yourself and I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that when she looks at this  black, faux leather binder with the  three-ring binder with 54 pages of documented evidence in support of my claim with twenty seven eight-by-ten color glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one is, she is going approve your appeal.”

And as he patted me on the back and walked me to the door of the Veteran’s Service Office of the Florida Department of Veteran’s Affairs, he said

“You should have a definitive answer in 24 to 48 months.”

And that is how my week is going. How about you?
